What this is, and what it is not

It is a way of not starting a child in the wrong place by a mile. Three questions on a strand is a rough measure and this page will not pretend otherwise — it cannot tell a bad morning from a gap, and it does not try to. If the answer it gives looks wrong, it is wrong: pick a different level and carry on.

Every answer is graded in the browser and thrown away. The result is kept in this browser only, so it is here when you come back on this device and nowhere else ever. There is no account, no sign-in, and nothing to opt out of.
